PRIVACY SHOULD BE CLEAR

Your information.
Your choice.

Effective August 25, 2026

This policy explains what information StarfishFloat.org may collect, why it may be used, and the choices available to you. We aim to collect only what serves a clear purpose and to communicate our practices in plain language.

01

Information we collect

We may collect information you choose to provide, including your name, email address, and the contents of a message when you subscribe, contact us, or otherwise communicate with StarfishFloat.org.

Our website and service providers may also receive limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring page, and the date and time of a request. We store your privacy choices on your device so the site can remember them.

02

How we use information

We use information to provide requested updates, respond to messages, operate and protect the website, understand and improve the visitor experience, fulfill legal obligations, and support the work described on StarfishFloat.org.

We do not sell personal information. We do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

03

Email updates

If you subscribe, your information may be processed by our email-service provider, currently expected to be Brevo, so we can deliver updates and manage subscriptions. You may unsubscribe through the link in any email or by contacting us.

04

Cookies and similar technologies

Necessary storage supports basic operation and remembers whether you accepted or declined optional website insights. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity remain disabled unless you choose “Yes, Help Us Improve.”

You may decline optional insights and continue using the site normally. Clearing browser storage resets your selection and presents the welcome choice again.

05

Global Privacy Control

When a supported browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, StarfishFloat.org treats it as a request to keep optional tracking disabled for that browser. The site does not knowingly override that signal.

06

How information may be shared

Information may be shared with service providers that help us host the site, deliver email, maintain security, or operate requested features. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of an organizational transition. Providers are expected to use information only for the services they perform.

07

Data retention and security

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, legal requirements, dispute resolution, and legitimate operational needs. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

08

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct, or delete information you provided, withdraw analytics consent by clearing this site’s stored data, unsubscribe from email, or request information about our practices. Rights vary by location. We will respond to applicable requests and may need to verify your identity.

09

Children

StarfishFloat.org is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us so we can address it.
